Bengaluru TravelJamia Masjid, near the City Market is a very beautiful mosque, built in 1940 and dedicated to Tipu Sultan. It is a 5 storeyed structure with ornate minarets and domes. Few years ago frescoes with the tiger emblem of Tipu Sultan were discovered under layers of paint. Death anniversary of Tipu Sultan, Tipu's Urs is observed in the mosque. 'Jumma Masjid' meaning Friday Mosque, this mosque is often confused with the Jumma Masjid in OPH Road and Jumma Masjid in Madiwala.
