Bull TempleBull Temple Road in Basavanagudi, is venue for Kadalekayi Parishe, the historic annual groundnut fair celebrated for 2 days, starting the last Monday of the Karthika month. This year, the fair was on 13th and 14th November. Good rains in the groundnut producing regions have brought down the prices this year, ranging between Rs. 20-30 per litre. Security was beefed up to cope up with increased crowds. Legend goes that a bull which trampled the groundnut crops, was appeased only when the farmers prayed to Lord Shiva promising to offer their first harvest to Basavanna, the bull.
