Lal Bagh is hosting its 200th biannual flower show. Organized by the Department of Horticulture and the Mysore Horticulture Society, the show was inaugurated by Hon. CM Siddharamaiah on 8th August and will conclude on the 17th of August. Special attractions this season: Replica of Mysore Palace ( 45ft x 12ft x 27ft) made of red, yellow and white Dutch roses, Dasara procession, floral pineapple, a vertical garden, and a photo gallery near the glass house. A permanent medicinal garden has been launched with 200 varieties of medicinal plants. Show timings: 9 am. to 5 pm on 8 - 17 Aug. NO parking. Entry fee: Rs.10 for children. Rs.40 for adults on weekdays and Rs.50 on weekends. For safety reasons, children have been advised not to visit on 15 August, during peak crowds.
