Know your Bengaluru

Nandi Hills is located 20 km from NH7 after Devanahalli, close to Bengaluru International Airport. The hill has its name from the bull that guards Yoga Nandeeshwara temple built by the Cholas. A fort built by the chieftains of Chikkaballapur, was strengthened by Tipu Sultan. The fort was captured by the British in the year 1791 and developed to a hill-station, which is now maintaind by the Horticultural Department.
