I-Day Flower Show in Lal Bagh organized by Department of Horticulture and the Mysore Horticultural Society, was inaugurated by the Horticulture Minister S S Mallikarjun. Highlight this year is the floral replica of the Parliament House, New Delhi. The theme of Green Energy is depicted by a floral wind-mill in a temperate garden. Other attractions were hanging baskets and 2 peacocks near the entrance, made of capsium and orchids. *Emergency medical services and a portable ICU are newly added facilities.
Flower show dates: 6 - 18 August 2016. 9 am - 6 pm
Entrance fee: Rs.50 for adults and Rs.10 for children

* Last year, 7 year old Vaishnavi succumbed to bee attack on 15 Aug, during the I-Day 2015 flower show. Her grand parents, unable to cope up with the loss, committed suicide recently on 23rd May, by jumping in front of Metro rail in Hebbal...
