Know your Bengaluru

St. Andrews ChurchSt. Andrews Kirk, in Cubbon Road was built in 1866 by the efforts of 19th century Scottish regiment soldiers and a few Scottish civilians. The church was named after a patron saint in Scotland. In the 19th century, Scottish regiment soldiers marched around the Church every Sunday. It was a Westernised Church with Scottish Customs, classical Scottish square dancing and western music. Architecture is of Gothic style with stained glass windows. Eventually St Andrews church joined CSI (Churches of South India) in September 1959.
