Know your Bengaluru

Nandhi TeerthaNandhi Teertha Temple was excavated in 1997 from a construction site in 15th Cross Road of Malleswaram in Bengaluru. The unique feature of this temple is that fresh water from the Nandhi's mouth falls continuously on a Shivalinga right below. The water is siphoned from a water spring in the Kalyani ( stepped rectangular pond). When the temple was restored intact by ASI (Archaeological Survey of India), they found that the temple is over 400 years old. However neither the history of this temple, nor the sculptor is known today. How the entire courtyard was buried in the soil remains a mystery.  Read more about Nandhi Teertha Temple...
