Crime against women in Electronic City PG accommodation(s)
Running PG accommodations is a lucrative business in Konappana Agrahara and Dodda Thoguru. The demand is high and it is an easy source of revenue for the land-lords. Most of them are not registered and no agreement is executed as in the case of rentals. The good old concept of Working Women's Hostel with a warden to oversee is now obsolete. Women prefer PG accommodation to a hostel as there is more flexibility and less restrictions. There is very little or no security arrangement which makes PG acco's highly unsafe and insecure for women.

Know your Bangalore

Veeranjaneya Temple is located in Mahalakshmi Layout. The Hanuman statue here is a 22 ft high monolithic carving. In 1973, the people began worshipping a rock on the barren hillock and painted an image of Anjaneya, which was later sculpted into an idol in 1975 by a sculptor, Shanmugananda. The State Govt. attempted to takeover the temple which was stayed by the High Court in 2013. On Hanuman Jayanti day, the temple distributes fruits to about 5,000 monkeys in and around Bangalore. The annual Benne Alankara ( butter decoration) event falls in the August.
