Press News for Ecity

Dussehra is a festival that celebrates the manifestations of Shakti, to honour women and girl children. Ironically atrocities against women are only increasing. 24x7 public transport, reliable official transport and work from home options may be of some help; Only capital punishment for the guilty can bring down the criminal mind-set of perverts.

Bengaluru TravelNavratri falls between 13 - 23 October this year. Tradition was to celebrate each of the 4 seasonal transitions for 9 nights ( Navratri) and 10 days. Hence Navratri occurs 4 times in a year according to Hindu calendars, out of which Shardiya Navratri (Sep/Oct) is the most popular. Dussehra also symbolizes the triumph of good over the evil. Durga Puja in Bengal celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over Mahishasura. Central India celebrates Rama's annihilation of Ravana by burning effigies. Goddess Chamundi Devi is taken in the royal processions of Mysuru.   Read more about Dussehra...
