Swananda Loka
is an upcoming Ganesha temple, inside the Swananda Ashram complex in Agara Village, 3 km off Kanakapura Road (NH 209), South Bengaluru.Swananda Loka
Swananda Loka is believed to be the heavenly abode of Lord Ganesha, who is depicted as Swananda Bala Ganapati, reclining in a 1008 petalled lotus in the vast divine ocean Ikshusagara. Here, Lord Ganesha is surrounded by Ashta Siddhis, his 8 divine attendants.Hoysala Architecture
Revival of Hoysala architecture has been a mission of the Swananda Ashram to replicate Swananda Loka on Earth, to attract global attention towards worship of Lord Ganesha, irrespective of caste and creed. The pilot project was completed successfully and the model called Ganapathi Panchayathana is open to visitors. Around the main shrine, the temple would have 4 shrines for the 4 Yuga Ganapathis and idols of 32 manifestations of Lord Ganesha.Swananda Ashram
The Ashram was established nearly 3 decades ago in 1990 to spread Ganesha Tatva, under the guidance of Shri Gangadrendra Saraswati Swami. The complex with its lush green gardens covers an area of 9 acres, and is surrounded by villages. Besides spirituality, the Ashram promotes education of rural children and organizes socio cultural events. The Ashram also maintains a Goshala for cattle. With the much awaited completion of this temple construction, Bengaluru will have its own Hoysala style temple!
