IFIM Law College has been conceived by IFIM Institutions founded by the DSIJ Group, the publishers of the popular Dalal Street Investment Journal, as a training ground for those seeking to enter the legal profession. Under the umbrella of Center for Developmental Education (CDE), the college has created and maintained an academic atmosphere that enables a student's growth to the fullest extent. The college is recognized by the Bar Council of India and is affiliated to the Karnataka State Law University, Hubli. At present the college is offering a five year BBA, LL.B Program and operates out of a modern, well equipped campus located in the heart of the city.

Program - BBA.LLB

This is a prestigious offering/program of the IFIM group-a five year integrated course leading to the award of BBA-LLB of Karnataka State Law University (KSLU). Recruiters tend to prefer an integrated five year program; experts in academia too believe that such a course will produce professionals who will be industry-ready to take up various challenges in an ever-evolving job market. The course has been devised and structured by KSLU.


  • Passed +2/PUC with a minimum of 45% marks. 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates
  • GC: Less than 20 years of age. SC/ST/OBC: Less than 22 years of age, as on 1st June
  • Applicants passed in board exams of other states to obtain Eligiblity Certificate from KSLU
  • Qualified in CLAT / LSAT / ILAT (IFIM’s Law Admission Test)

Teaching Methodology

The students who become part of the IFIM family after clearing the hurdle of a rigorous and strenuous selection procedure. Students are encouraged to take part at the various spheres of national and international Moot Court Competitions, Legal Aid Program, Paper presentations, Sports and Cultural activities. IFIM Law College strives for inter-disciplinary academic excellence in sync with the other National Law Schools. IFIM Law College will most likely become a leader in the sphere of legal education in the country.

Moot Courts

In order to become a successful lawyer it is essential for a student to know how to apply the law he has learnt to a fact situation and to have awareness of the rules and the etiquettes of the Court. Moot Court is like the laboratories of law schools where theoretical knowledge is tested in real life situations. Realizing this, the IFIM Law College has been facilitating continuous training to the students to participate in Moot Court. Mooting is the centerpiece of IFIM Law College's law program. Every student is encouraged, and is in fact expected, to take part in at least one moot court competition during their 5 years of legal study. In a state-of-the-art moot court room, the law students will learn and practice the art of oral advocacy. A Moot Court Committee that will oversee the functioning of the Moot Court Society (MCS). Members and office bearers of the MCS, who will be elected on an annual basis, are tasked with the responsibility of ensuring the smooth functioning of the society. A moot court coordinator, with vast experience in training moot teams has also been appointed to.

Internship and Placement

IFIM Law College is based in Electronics City, Bangalore, where some of the top recruiters in the country are located. There is a dedicated internship and placement cell which is tasked with obtaining internships for students and placing them with lawyers, law firms, in-house legal departments, public policy thank-tanks and NGOs in their final semester.
